This was the second in a series of Workshops convened in 2006 addressing US standards and Conformity Assessment.  The First workshop was convened March 6 - 10  focused on Health  & Safety Regulations; standards of CPSC; EPA; standards in the ICT sector; and automotive sector requirements The  August 2006 Agenda included a plenary session and sector discussions on food and agriculture products; textiles & apparel; medical devices; cosmetics; conformity assessment; & automotive parts
Belinda Collins, Director Technology Services, National Institute of Standards and Technology addressed the plenary  by remote audio presentation of overview slides of  US standards activities Coleman Sachs, NHTSA and Caroline E. Michaels, SAE  addressed the automotive parts sector  through internet audio connection from the US. 
The Thai Embassy has contracted with GTW Associates to assist planning and conducting two further workshops on US standards and conformity assessment in the period November 2006 - November 2007
